Alpacas are bred in altitudes ranging from 3,500 to over 4,500 metres above sea level, where they can naturally withstand temperatures that fluctuate between -20°C to +30°C in a single day, surviving on a special low-protein diet based on natural grasses.
Alpaca is a silky, soft, durable fibre that has unique thermal properties due to the microscopic air pockets found within it. These pockets allow the user to breathe through the fibres on warm days, and likewise trap body heat in cold weather. It is also elastic and non-flammable.

Product Care
While you may choose to dry clean your pillows or duvets on a rare occasion with a specialist, the best way to care for your bedding is to expose it to light and air. On a fine, warm, dry day, take them outside and peg them on a clothes line or, if the weather isn't so good, allow them to air near an open window. Also instead of plumping the pillows (as you would a conventional pillow) hold the pillow on either side and pull the fibres apart, allowing circulation of air and an increase in volume.
